A cold frame was constructed out of the square foot garden box. Heavy gauge plastic was used and three pieces of wood to support the plastic which is stapled on 3 sides and then use bricks on the 4th side to allow opening and closing of the plastic.

Right now the coldframe is holding lavender, marigolds, strawberries, peonies, columbines, mixed greens and beet greens. We had our first snow and it held up well with the temperature inside well above what is outside.
