It's been a wild ride here this year. Pots of tomatoes, peppers, etc. have been getting dragged in and then put out again as the temperatures careen between upper thirties to upper seventies! The aerogarden base with 4 Green Zebra plants had to be put outside because the plants outgrew the lamp height! The basil has finally been started, the last one inside cause it's more sensitive to the cold temperatures.

In the meantime, the tulip riot I planted last fall gave a great showing. The red and white Carnaval de Rio tulips ordered from Burpee last fall did not disappoint. Just hate to see them go but it's time. The lilac once again produced a bumper crop of blooms to the delight of the bees and some hummingbirds. The Grape Hyacinths extended their territory along with with dwarf daffodils...

This year's plants include Golden Cherry Tomato, Green Zebra Tomato, Thai Purple Peppers, Thai Mini Red Peppers, Mini Macho Pepper, Pak Choi, Cilantro, Sweet Basil, Lemongrass, Radish, Spring Peas and Strawberries. Flowers include 4 varieties of Nasturtium and 2 Sunflowers.

The black plastic grills over the last picture are saved from furnace filter packaging. They are necessary to keep the squirrels from "hiding" dinner rolls a neighbor leaves out. The dinner rolls also ended up in our rain gutters!
