Survived the brutal heat wave here. Had to be especially careful to be on the case with the containers. They dry out a lot faster and retain heat more than plants in the ground or in a raised bed. (especially if they are black or dark colored. Some of the flowers had to be moved into the shade due to the heat and high ultra violet light. There has been an invasion of catbirds here. They made quick work of the blackberry bush and strawberry boxes. It was like a race to beat them to the fruit. Herbs, parsley, cherry tomatoes and various peppers are doing well.

Below is a summer salad made up of garden vegetables. Yellow Cherry Tomato, Cucumbers, Red Pepper, Chili Pepper, Parsley, Garlic Chives, Green Zebra Tomato. Only outside ingredients were Shallot and a little Garlic

The flowers survived the heat wave and have been re vitalized by the cooler weather!
